Job Details
Position requires knowledge of agricultural systems design, layout, and engineering techniques. Responsible for preparing budgets and estimates for projects that accurately depict costs for design concepts and construction intent. Devise new approaches to problems, convey concepts, and prepare costs to present to owners. Participate in owner meetings to understand needs and communicate design concepts. Responsible for preparing portions of contract proposal estimates for one or more disciplines, including ensuring that cost estimates reflect the applicable project plans and specifications. Project management of smaller local projects.

- Actively seek and qualify opportunities for Bratney millwright construction.
- Provide experienced and quality advice and assistance to new and existing customers in territory and build relationships leading to future projects.
- Coordinate with designers and engineers to produce conceptual drawings for project development, process flow diagrams, and equipment layouts for millwright construction projects.
- Schedule and participate in conceptual design review meetings with designers and owner.
- Perform minor calculations for system design (surge bin sizing, spouting size selection, dust collection CFM requirements, and minor conveyor sizing), working with the designer if needed.
- Coordination with vendors gathering equipment dimensions & specifications. Check equipment drawings for fit within a system.
- Coordinate with a variety of Project Development Designers, Engineering & Design Manager, Design Engineers, Engineers, Project Managers, and other team members to produce project estimates based on conceptual process designs and drawings for a variety of engineering and construction projects.
- Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
- Participate in presentations to management and clients. May be responsible for “closing the sale”.
- May assist in the preparation of studies, materials, methods, recommendations, and cost estimates as required.
- Prepare discipline estimates by calculating complete take off of scope of work.
- Ensures job plan, methods of construction, and schedule are completed.
- Meet with subcontractors and suppliers as needed for bid planning, clarification, and coordination.
- Review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or available material.
- Review and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man hour figures.
- Track awarded contracts as required- may include estimating/pricing extra work items, change orders, credit, procuring material etc.
- Project management, including purchasing, scheduling and crew coordination for smaller projects.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Thorough knowledge of company procedures, estimating techniques, all engineering disciplines, cost control system and accounts required.
- Ability to estimate all types of projects/contracts, plus ability to coordinate and supervise group work effort is essential.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Knowledgeable of company’s objectives.
- Skill at scheduling own time.
- Ability to prioritize tasks for job completion.
- Ability to present information in a clear and understandable manner.
- Travel will be required up to approximately 50%.
- Must have clean driving record and valid driver's license.
Education

- Satisfactory completion of a four year Engineering or equivalent discipline preferred.
